The Heart of Mexico... Cancun!

Updated: Aug 28

Hey, so if you know me or just follow me on Instagram, you'd probably get the hint that I travel a lot. Most of the time, I'll be in Mexico, preferably Cancun.

When traveling to Cancun, most people stay at all-inclusive resorts. You can consume as much food & drinks as you'd like, whenever you'd like. As much fun as that seems, the price tag is not the best. I'd guess that they charge you for what they seem the average person could chow down, but the most that they could ever chow down... I'm not of age to drink, but my parents would have about 2-3 drinks per day that they'd buy at the resort. Although we do eat at the resort a lot, we also enjoy going outside the resort to go check out other restaurants in the hotel zone. For us, all-inclusive resorts just don't really make sense.

The JW Marriott Resort & Spa is of course a fan favorite. I've been coming here since I was in fifth grade, I'm a senior now, but we've come here around twenty-six times, I believe. It is truly paradise. The staff is like my second family. Every time I arrive there for the first time that trip, they're always like "omg Nataliaaaa! How are you?!" They are the sweetest people. I used to have a youtube channel & they all subscribed & were watching them, it was so nice.

The food here is AMAZING! When you're out enjoying the rays of sun next to the beach or pool, order from the Beach Walk. Out of all of the resorts that I've been to, the beach walk definitely has the best food and service.

If you don't feel like leaving the hotel, no problem. The JW has many on-site restaurants. They each have their own cuisine. Along with the hotel, Casa Magna, directly next door they have many great restaurants, too. Sasi Thai at the Casa Magna is one of my parents favorite restaurants on property. They have large "palapas" that you eat in, it's very beautiful. If you eat there, you can order from any of the restaurants outside, including Champions & Mikado. I personally order the fried rice from Mikado all the time whenever we go. The staff is incredibly nice & will accommodate to your needs.

Before you leave, you must check out the gift shop. 750°, I believe is what it's called. The pizza there is amazing. They have a bunch of Mexican snacks, drinks, & candies. It's an absolute must to try the sorbet & gelato. I usually get the lemon sorbet, because it's dairy free!

Looking forward to writing more about my favorite place on earth. This is just a little starter page about my journeys to Cancun. Stay tuned in for more!
